About ETEC

Through collaborative partnerships, ETEC works to bridge connections between research centers and industry to support science education. ETEC brings teachers and scientist together to develop classroom applications based upon cutting-edge research. ETEC recruits teacher leaders, including National Board certified teachers, to deliver professional development and student enrichment programs that are standards- bases and include effective instructional strategies.
The mission of ETEC is to improve the quality of instruction in science by providing professional development opportunities for K-14 teachers. Specifically, these opportunities will be targeted to integrate and support the California subject matter standards and the teacher's needs as identified by teachers, school districts, and other county offices of education.
